MOSES Conference

The MOSES (Midwest Organic & Sustainable Education Service) Conference will be held Feb 26-28, 2015, in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The MOSES Conference is the largest event in the U.S. about organic and sustainable farming. Every February this event draws more than 3,000 farmers, advocates, educators, students, and others to the La Crosse Center in La Crosse, Wis., for educational workshops, inspiring keynote speakers, and a two-floor Exhibit Hall open exclusively to conference attendees.

CCOF Annual Meeting

Wednesday, February 11, 2015 - 8:00am

The CCOF Annual Meeting will be held Feb 11, 2015, in Sacramento, California. CCOF will host a full day of events to celebrate California as the capital of organic. The day will begin with our annual meeting, followed by face-to-face meetings with our elected representatives, and finish with a celebratory reception.

Organicology

Thursday, February 5, 2015 - 8:00am to Saturday, February 7, 2015 - 5:00pm

Organicology 2015, featuring the latest research and education and networking for organic stakeholders, will take place this Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 5-7, at the Hilton Portland Downtown in Portland, OR. Organicology, held every two years, is organized by the Organically Grown Company, Oregon Tilth, Sustainable Food Trade Association, and Organic Seed Alliance.

Among the panelists in the Friday morning workshop on “How to Market Organic” will be Laura Batcha, OTA’s Executive Director/CEO.

Batcha and Gwendolyn Wyard, OTA’s Regulatory Director for Organic Standards and Food Safety, will also take part in a Friday afternoon workshop on “Why Policy Matters.”

On Saturday, Nate Lewis (OTA’s Senior Crops & Livestock Specialist) and Perry Clutts (OTA Board member and OTA’s Farmers Advisory Council co-chair) will hold a listening session on OTA’s Farmers Advisory Council.

This will be followed by a listening session on the proposed Organic Check-off Program with speakers Marty Mesh of Florida Organic Growers and Consumers, Melody Meyer of UNFI and OTA Board Secretary, and OTA’s Nate Lewis.

EcoFarm Conference

Wednesday, January 21, 2015 - 8:00am to Saturday, January 24, 2015 - 5:00pm

The annual EcoFarm Conference celebrating organic farming and filled with educational plenaries and workshops will take place Jan. 21-24 at the Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, CA. Both representatives from OTA and The Organic Center will be taking part, including OTA’s Executive Director/CEO Laura Batcha. Gwendolyn Wyard (OTA’s Regulatory Director, Organic Standards & Food Safety) will present on next steps in the fight against GMOs, while Nate Lewis (OTA’s Senior Crops and Livestock Specialist) will serve as moderator for a session on crop insurance for diversified organic farms. In addition, The Organic Center’s Director of Science Programs Dr. Jessica Shade will give a talk on the science supporting the benefits of organic, and moderate a session focusing on the results from The Center’s publication detailing methods for organic control of fire blight without the use of antibiotics.

Minnesota Department of Agriculture Organic Conference

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture Organic Conference will be help Jan 9-10, 2015, in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Members of the Organic Research and Promotion Program ('Organic Check-off) Steering Committee will be capturing feedback from organic certificate holders on the framework for a potential program.

New England Farmers Union (NEFU) Annual Convention
