The Organic Trade Association’s Annual Fund supports critical programs essential to the growth of the organic sector. We have been at the forefront for thirty years in positioning organic for its remarkable growth. Your support enables our success to continue in the decades ahead and makes our collective voice resound for all to hear.

Support the Organic Trade Association Annual Fund to promote, protect and advance the industry. These are unprecedented times. Never before has the organic sector had so much on the line. The Organic Trade Association takes decisive action to keep organic standards strong and consumer confidence high, but our continued strength depends on YOU. With your support, we can:

Defend organic standards and the integrity of organic.

We are suing the U.S. Department of Agriculture over its derailment of the animal welfare standards for organic livestock and poultry. Protecting organic standards and the collaborative process that engages all stakeholders is our top priority. We take legal action only when necessary—this is one of those times. We will make our case to the courts in 2018.

Protect consumers and businesses from organic fraud.

We are working with members to develop private sector initiatives that cut the risk of fraud. On the public sector side, we will advance the Organic Farmer and Consumer Protection Act through Congress to improve oversight of global organic trade and increase funding for compliance and enforcement.

Advance an organic platform for the 2018 Farm Bill.

We are establishing new political champions that will go to bat for organic on the Hill. Our advocacy will result in bipartisan legislation that increases funding for organic research, improves trade oversight, and expands access to rural development programs for organic. OTA’s comprehensive set of priorities for the Farm Bill comes directly from our member survey and your input!

Take U.S. organic worldwide.

We are promoting U.S.-based organic products on five continents this year. Our work creates export opportunities through market access, trade promotion, and consumer education to key organic markets— building bridges with organic influencers worldwide.

Correct misinformation and shape organic news coverage.

We are positively affecting the reputation of organic with fact-based responses and demands for fair and accurate press coverage. From The New York Times to the The Wall Street Journal to the The Washington Post, we are always ready to go on the record for organic.
