Organic Trade Association's Fiber Processing Standards

PLEASE NOTE:  OTA is in the process of considering adopting the Global Organic Textile Standards (GOTS), which it helped develop with other partners.  This process should be complete by early 2007.  OTA's Fiber Processing Standards as described below will continue to be used as a policy guidance document for interpreting GOTS.  OTA members may view information about GOTS at: http://www.ota.com/m/communities/taskforces/gots.html.

OTA members may find further information at:
http://www.ota.com/m/communities/taskforces/gots.html

PLEASE ALSO NOTE: All fiber sold as organic in the US must meet the USDA National Organic Program rule for crop production, and if necessary, livestock production.

Thank you for your interest in the Organic Trade Association’s Organic Fiber Processing Standards.  These standards, developed over 5 years by members of OTA and in consideration of the diverse interests and high standards demanded by the OTA members, are
