GREENFIELD, Mass. (July 27, 2000) – The Organic Trade Association (OTA) will hold its annual membership meeting at an afternoon tea on September 21 in Baltimore, MD. The tea and meeting are slated from 4-6 p.m. in the Hyatt Regency Baltimore.
Celebrating its 15th anniversary, OTA represents the organic industry in North America. Its mission is to encourage global sustainability through promoting and protecting the growth of diverse organic trade. Its more than 1,100 members include growers, shippers, processors, certifiers, farmers’ associations, distributors, importers, exporters, consultants, retailers and others.
At its annual meeting, OTA will review the state of the association and its accomplishments during the past year. Other business will include the introduction of new board members and officers, announcement of the "Big O" Award winner, a brief review of committee plans for the coming year, and highlights from OTA’s Market Access Program grant-funded study on the international market for organic.
The afternoon tea will feature a variety of organic teas, snacks, and baked goods provided by OTA members.
The annual meeting is open only to OTA members in good standing. Although there is no entry fee, persons planning to attend are asked to indicate this intention to OTA headquarters by Sept. 15 at the latest. To do so, contact Lori Wyman at 413-774-7511, ext. 11 (e-mail: email@example.com).
