GREENFIELD, Mass. (Aug. 23, 2001)—The Organic Trade Association (OTA) and
Nürnberg Global Fairs have signed an agreement to create a BioFach America Pavilion at OTA’s 2002 All Things Organic™ Conference and Trade Show slated for May 8-11, 2002, at the Austin Convention Center, Austin, TX.
Under the agreement, the international pavilion will be an integral part of the trade show, and will include a minimum of 25, and up to 50, booths featuring buyers and suppliers of organic products and services from around the world.
"We are truly delighted to have reached this agreement with Nürnberg Global Fairs, and believe the pavilion will provide a fertile environment for the international exchange, promotion, and sale of organic products," said Katherine DiMatteo, executive director of the Organic Trade Association.
Nürnberg Global Fairs of Nürnberg, Germany, manages the annual BioFach international trade show in Germany, and will inaugurate BioFach Japan in Tokyo in December. At the Japan event, OTA will host a member showcase booth featuring products and services from participating OTA members.
Geared for the organic community in North America, OTA’s All Things Organic™ Conference and Trade Show made its debut in May 2001. The 200l conference and trade show drew 1,200 attendees, 180 booths, and standing-room-only attendance at conference breakout sessions. Because of the high demand for booth space for the 2001 show and many pre-registrations for the 2002 show, OTA has reserved a larger trade show floor at the Austin Convention Center for the 2002 event.
OTA is scheduling educational sessions on May 9 and 10, 2002, and its trade show on May 10 and 11. OTA committee and related meetings are being planned for May 8.
