GREENFIELD, Mass. (Aug. 21, 2002)—Want to find out what organic products are available for export? The answer is as easy as a click or two away for those with Internet access.
The Organic Trade Association’s (OTA’s) Organic Export Directory Online is now available as a direct link from OTA’s home page (http://www.ota.com). Produced with significant funding from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Foreign Agriculture Service Market Access Program, the directory is open to all companies that sell certified organic products grown or produced in the United States. Companies listed must have already completed one successful export transaction before being eligible for inclusion.
Previously, OTA published two print editions (2000 and 2001) of the directory, which were distributed at embassies and trade offices worldwide. The online directory gives the same type of detailed contact information, business descriptions, products and services for each listed company. However, because it is online, it can be readily updated and searched.
Products and services listed in OTA’s Organic Export Directory Online include supplies used in certified organic agricultural production, organic food and agricultural products, and textiles and organic fiber products. Translations of the site are currently available in French, German and Spanish, with the possibility of adding additional languages in the future. For more information, direct questions or comments to Dan Pratt at the Organic Trade Association (413-774-7511, Ext. 13; firstname.lastname@example.org).
