The Go Organic! for Earth Day™ campaign, a joint project of the Organic Trade Association and Music Matters, raises awareness and increases sales of organic products among shoppers at mainstream supermarkets. 2008 marks the fourth year of the campaign, which is designed to produce maximum benefits for partnering retailers and manufacturers. Last year, this program featured information about organic products and agriculture in more than 50 retail grocery chains nationwide, representing more than 3,550 stores and 35 leading organic brands. According to SPINS data for past campaigns, participating retailers achieved more than a 40 percent higher rate of growth of sponsors' products when compared with non-participating retailers during the April campaign.
