April 6-7, 2011 :: The Hall of the States* :: Washington, D.C. An OTA Members Only Event
OTA’s 2011 Policy Conference and Hill Visit Days provided the industry with an in-depth look at current policymaking and on-the-ground opportunities to advocate for organic, including nearly 100 visits to Congressional offices. Themed “Advancing Organic Together,” the event organized by OTA and supported by the Organic Farming Research Foundation (OFRF) focused on the value of organic agriculture in providing jobs, supporting rural livelihoods and advancing an entrepreneurial spirit. Among the featured speakers was Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, who declared that “organic is part of the strategy to rebuild rural America.” OTA has posted a slideshow of selected photos below, and presentations from the conference sessions are available for members.
Join OTA for an intensive, two-day conference as industry leaders gather from around the country to carry the organic message to Capitol Hill. You’ll hear from thought leaders, visit legislators to communicate the importance of organic agriculture, and network with other organic industry leaders.
