New Media and Consumer Outreach Manager

Help develop an exciting and fast growing agricultural and consumer segment of the food, fiber and personal care market.
The Organic Trade Association (OTA) seeks to fill the position of New Media and Consumer Outreach Manger. The New Media manager will plan and implement new media and consumer public relations efforts for OTA coordinating and executing both proactive and responsive communications.
The position will function as a creative member of OTA’s Integrated Communication, Marketing and Public Relations team, reporting to the Chief of Policy and External Relations. OTA promotes and educates consumers and opinion leaders about organic products throughout the United States and Canada, through its website organicitsworthit.org, e-newsletter and social marketing tools including twitter and facebook.
Qualified applicants will possess a personal passion for organic agriculture; demonstrated communications experience and demonstrated experience in new and social media, 2+ years related work experience. The candidate will possess a demonstrated experience in and knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Internet research skills. Google Alerts. Experience with website content management systems including drupal. General comfort with new or customized computer applications needed.
Position is located at headquarters in the five-college area of Western Massachusetts or OTA’s Washington DC office.
