Protect Funding for Organic
I am pleased to share the good news that the OTA Annual Fund has surpassed the $500,000 mark, getting us all the more closer to our $650,000 goal for 2011. If you still haven’t pledged your support, please do so today, because from where I sit in Washington, D.C., things are really heating up. The new Congress’ majority perspective about the budget and spending will have tremendous implications for organic agriculture and trade, and makes it all the more crucial that the organic industry has strong representation here on the Hill. Organic on the Table
A major part of OTA’s work to ensure that organic products are on consumers’ tables (and in all rooms of the house!) is making sure that OTA is at the table in official Washington, D.C. And while this campaign emerged from the produce industry, it is not just a threat to the organic fruit and vegetable sector—it is a threat to organic overall. Read more.

Keep the momentum going!
As we begin the OTA 2011 Annual Fund drive, I'm pleased to share the exciting news that Good Housekeeping magazine features a terrific article on organic agriculture and products in its November issue. Pieces like this don’t just happen. As part of our annual media tour to women’s service magazines and news outlets, OTA visited Good Housekeeping with news, information, and story ideas related to organic. Since then, OTA has worked back and forth with this widely read publication to develop this article and be a general resource for this organic story, which is expected to reach up to 18 million consumers. This is a prime example of the work that your support enables. Read more.
