The Organic Trade Association (OTA) and The Organic Center will provide a number of opportunities to connect at Natural Products Expo West, one of the primary annual gathering places for the organic sector. Join OTA and The Center’s supporters, members, Board and staff in exploring the possibilities for sector growth in the future.

From the Rooftops: The Power of a Collective Research and Promotion Program for Organic
Friday, 9:30 - 10:30 a.m.,
Anaheim Marriott, Platinum Ballroom 1
Got organic? Now that Congress has passed a Farm Bill, it’s time for the organic sector to “officially” consider whether or not an Organic Research and Promotion Program is in our future. OTA’s advocacy efforts successfully removed the legislative barriers preventing the potential program from becoming a reality. Now, USDA is authorized to consider an application for a check-off program from the organic sector, should the sector choose to pursue such an application. The new Farm Bill also expands the exemption for organic operations from conventional check-off programs. Join us for a panel discussion reviewing the options for a program framework and be sure to weigh in!

The Organic Center’s 11th Annual VIP Dinner
Friday, 6:30-10 p.m., Hilton Anaheim, Ballroom C
Join supporters of The Organic Center at its 11th Annual VIP Dinner to learn about all that The Center has accomplished during the past year. The Center’s first year operating under the administrative auspices of the Organic Trade Association has been an exciting one, and we look forward to sharing our vision with you for the future.
